Trumpeter from Distant Thunder Jazz Quartet

Jeremy Milliner - Trumpet
  Jeremy is the trumpeter for Distant Thunder. He has nine years of classical training, and is a huge fan of jazz and rock. Jeremy strives to incorporate a variety of styles in both his playing and his teaching. Jeremy received his BA in jazz from the University of Maryland, College Park and has been actively teaching since 2003. He teaches privately, but also through Music and Arts in both Germantown and Rockville. He also works sectionals and live demos with schools in the Montgomery County area, and composes in his spare time.

Arielle Miller - Drums
  Arielle recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in music education from the University of Maryland and now teaches instrumental music at Stevens Forest Elementary School in Columbia, Maryland. She currently performs with a jazz combo, Distant Thunder, and has recently played percussion for performances with Kensington Arts Theater, CUAdrama, and 2nd Star Productions. Arielle also teaches private percussion lessons from her home in Columbia.

Josh Boker - Piano
  Josh is a classically trained pianist with 20 years of experience. He is the assistant music director and accompanist for the Sherwood Community Choir. His choral composition, "Three Energies", was commissioned for the Sherwood High School Chamber Singers and performed in a series of concerts throughout Italy in April 2015. For the past 10 years, he has assisted with Sherwood High School's annual "Rock 'n' Roll Revival" production, creating chord charts and arranging voice, horn, and string parts. His primary musical interest is free improvisation inspired by ambient minimalism, Christian mysticism, and Jungian psychology.

Jeff Eckert - Bass
  Jeff is an electric bassist with over a decade of experience. Originally a classically-trained clarinetist, Jeff self-taught bass by playing in and around his hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina. He moved to central Maryland after earning a BS in Computer Engineering. He performs with a wide variety of groups outside Distant Thunder, including the Columbia Concert Band, 2nd Star Productions, Heritage Players, Category 5 Wind Ensemble, the Laurel Mill Playhouse, and Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre.
